New Article in The Oxford Handbook of Schopenhauer

24.04.2020

New article by Benedikt Paul Göcke: "Karl Christian Friedrich Krause's Influence on Schopenhauer's Philosophy" published in The Oxford Handbook of Schopenhauer, edited by Robert L. Wicks. Göcke argues that Schopenhauer‘s thinking bears a striking similarity to Karl Christian Friedrich Krause‘s system of philosophy of which Krause informed Schopenhauer when they used to live together in the same house in Dresden.
The Handbook covers all aspects and themes of Schopenhauer's thought, and his impact on philosophy and the arts from the 19th century to present day. It includes pioneering work on Schopenhauer's connection with religious thought and features the work of a wide range of international scholars of Schopenhauer. The Handbook is accessible to a wide audience that includes non-specialists.
